Built From the Hobby.
Refined for the Hobbyist.
Reserved Aquatics grew from a genuine obsession with freshwater aquariums, planted tanks, shrimp, unusual livestock, and the details that turn a tank into something worth keeping.
It Started With the Tanks.
Like a lot of aquarium keepers, it began with one tank and quickly became something much bigger. More tanks meant more plants, more livestock, more experimentation, and a deeper interest in what makes an aquarium truly successful.
Over time, keeping aquariums became more than a hobby. It became an ongoing pursuit of healthier livestock, better planted systems, cleaner presentation, dependable equipment, and better ways to help other aquarists succeed.
Reserved Aquatics was built around that experience.
Offer aquarium keepers carefully selected livestock, plants, supplies, and knowledgeable service without losing the personal attention that made the hobby worth pursuing in the first place.
A Higher Standard for What We Keep.
The name Reserved Aquatics reflects the way we approach the hobby: thoughtfully, selectively, and with an emphasis on quality over volume.
Quality Livestock
We focus on healthy, visually exceptional, and interesting aquarium livestock that earns its place in a carefully kept system.
Knowledgeable Care
The products and livestock we offer are backed by hands-on aquarium experience, not simply a catalog listing.
Thoughtful Selection
Not everything needs to make it into the inventory. We would rather offer fewer worthwhile options than fill a store with forgettable ones.

Meet the Owners.

Preston Thomas
My interest in aquatics started with breeding Neocaridina shrimp. As I got deeper into shrimp breeding, that interest naturally grew into planted tanks, fish, and eventually the larger freshwater hobby. Shrimp breeding is still where most of my passion lies today.
I started Reserved Aquatics because I wanted to provide other hobbyists with the quality I wish had been available to me when I was getting started. Healthy livestock matters to me more than having the biggest inventory, and I would rather sell someone the right fish than make a sale that is not right for them or their aquarium.
As the business grows, I want to keep that standard at the center of it. I want people to know that when they buy from Reserved Aquatics, the health and quality of the livestock came first.
Christian Andersen
Christian was originally a neighbor who took an interest in what I was building with Reserved Aquatics. He shared the idea that buying fish should be an exciting experience for a family, not something that ends a few days later with unhealthy livestock and disappointment. That shared outlook eventually led to him becoming part of the business.
He helps with breeding and developing shrimp varieties, networking within the community, and the business and marketing side of Reserved Aquatics. His goal is to help us reach more people without losing the standards that made the business worth building in the first place.
Christian is also a U.S. Army veteran who served as a 12B Combat Engineer. He brings that experience, along with his knowledge of business and marketing, to the way we plan for the future of Reserved Aquatics.
We have different backgrounds and strengths, but we agree on what matters most: healthy livestock, exceptional quality, and customers over margins.
